HF
Hydrogen fluoride, also known as an "etching gas," is a compound produced by the bonding of hydrogen (H) atoms to fluorine (F). HF is essentially a fluorine atom bonded to hydrogen, which is highly reactive and can melt glass or plastic. HF has a boiling point of 19.5°C and exists as a gas at room temperature, 25°C. However, it liquefies easily under pressure or at sufficiently cold temperatures. At the same time, HF is highly water soluble. The aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride is known as hydrogen fluoride or hydrofluoric acid. HF can be used as a cleaning solution. Semiconductors are becoming more integrated, and ultrapure hydrogen fluoride is required to minimize the rate of nonconformability
